CFLs use less energy and our CFL fundraisers require much less energy from you, too. Once your group flips the On switch to begin the fundraising process we take care of everything from there. 2. Distribute Materials to Teachers and Students

We take care of production of most materials. We will customize them to your school as much as possible.  You might include a special message from the principal or your group's president on your web site and newsletters. You also may want to mention how you plan to invest the earnings from the school fundraiser, for example, or talk about integrating this green fundraising program with the school curriculum.

We will prepare sets of materials for teachers that you can distribute. These "lesson plans" offer information and ideas to help children understand where energy comes from, how we use it, and the effects on the environment. We want kids to learn what each of us can do to reduce energy use to help the environment. In addition to taking very little time and effort, this educational element to the fundraiser helps us stand apart.

Orders are taken over the Internet. Bulbs are sent directly to homes. You do not have to worry about taking orders, counting and reconciling payments, or distributing the CFL orders. We take care of everything.

You succeed by encouraging purchases by friends, family, board members and teachers. Just reinforce the benefits of the program -- to students and families, the school, and the environment. Messages on the school's and your group's websites help as do mentions in newsletters. The biggest impact you'll make is by setting an example and making purchases yourself. Your word-of-mouth "advertising" will convince parents, families and friends to support the school while they save energy, save money, and save the environment.
